is the history of civilization.

They say it is the history of conquest.

Or of technology.

They are wrong.

The true history of mankind

is the history of time.

For ages, humanity reached outward,

crossing worlds,

building empires,

bending matter to its will.

But all power is measured

against the same enemy:

death.

Most species live in the present.

Mankind never could.

It remembers too much.

It fears too deeply.

It desires too greatly.

And so it turned to time.

Then came the Continuum.

And with it came the promise

that changed the universe forever.
