The cart and its precious cargo where assisted by the gods who had the moon shine enough light on the path to avoid accidents.
At sunrise the sun and the icy plains were welcoming them. Not with their warmth but with more speed than the moutains had offered.
The driver turned the cart around and put the horse at the other side. The Empress had more comfort that way, and the could run along with the cart, offering the horse more speed or at least for a longer period, than with him on its back and having to pull the cart.
In the end they reached Opal, where the first sun was welcoming them. But it was too late. The Empress had died in her feverish sleep on the cart
