Fouquier’s Graphic Novels Manifesto
Goal
1
To create graphic novels
that observe time, isolation,
and the slow erosion of meaning.
Context
2
We communicate constantly.
Yet understand each other less.
Attention is fragmented.
Meaning is diluted.
Value systems fade.
Replaced by noise.
Artificial intelligence expands.
Human presence contracts.
Time does not exist.
Only moments.
Basic Concept
3
Graphic novels that speak for themselves.
No dialogue.
Minimal interaction.
No fluent stories
Just images.
Decay is visible.
Time is absent.
Stories unfold slowly.
Repetition is key.
Environment first.
Character second.
Silence is part of the narrative.
Repetition of images carries the story.
Only one panel images.
Images stand on their own. Inconsistencies are allowed.
Landscape format.
Wide landscapes dominate.
Humans are secondary.
To space.
To moment.
To environment.
Relationships fail.
Between people.
And between man
and machine.
