The next day two chiefs of Pakal (see The Legend of Opal) stood in front of the hut of Mana Wāhine. Nobody knew where they came from but the message was clear to everyone in the village: "Leave the two alone!"
And so when Mana Wāhine and MacDonald got out of the hut in the morning they were welcomed by loud cheers again. Mana Wāhine said to MacDonald: "Let me take you away from here...you might find this interesting."
So Mana Wāhine took MacDonald to the jungle and after a long walk she showed him the pyramid. "This is your way out of Chahar Bagh. Few people know about it. Give Tornassuk my regards, I will organize the salvage of a way into the deep. I will meet you again outside."
Next thing MacDonald walked towards the pyramid...
...and climbed its steps.
Inside he grasped a torch and followed the tunnels to the outside as Mana Wāhine had told him.
Outside Tornassuk was still waiting at MacDonald.....
....when the Inconstant appeared.
Soon after that MacDonald walked out of the gate and embraced Tornassuk.
