After several days of roaming the ocean MacDonald noticed the keel of a ship on the surface. He pushed up the periscope for a further identification and was glad to see the ship was indeed the Inconstant.
But there was a storm up there and docking with the Inconstant would be impossible, so he woud have to wait for the storm to calm down and stay in the neighborhood.
Finally when the sun was setting the storm was over. So MacDonald approached the Inconstant and made himself known.
After the first disbelief of the Inconstant's crew the Fish as MacDonald called the submarine was docked.
Both Murat and MacDonald were extremely glad to see one another again and they grabbed each other in a tight hug.
Somewhat later, in the captain's cabin, Murat asked MacDonald to tell him all of his adventures and especially why he wore trousers and where he got that metal construction he arrived in.
