The moment had come for Asterion to spring the trap. In the background, the knights rode aimlessly, shouting at each other what to do. Asterion gave the signal.
From all sides, minotaurs suddenly rushed out of the forests at a pace faster than horses could move.
The earth trembled under the heavy feet that landed on the ground by the hundreds.
And their deafening roar was the icing on the cake...this was a stampede coming towards the knights.
They fell like flies, totally confused by the violence that blew them over.
Axes and swords mowed down the knights. And their horses wandered around aimlessly.
With only a few left, the retreat was sounded.
But this wasn't the end for the minotaurs. Knights who couldn't keep up with the group were overtaken and killed.
And stray horses were used by the minotaurs for their older, already somewhat tired, comrades.
And so the herd of minotaurs reached the royal castle. Those who hadn't yet fled or sought refuge behind the thick walls were thrown from the walls, and the castle was set ablaze.
