After the total victory the minotaurs returned to Asterion's castle where they drank and celebrated wildly.
There was also an extensive buffet provided by Astaroth, and everyone went to sleep late into the night with a full stomach and a light head.
In the days that followed, however, there was little appetite. This was initially attributed to the excessive alcohol consumption the night before.
However, when the lack of appetite continued, some began to worry.
Something that didn't improve when more and more minotaurs started to catch a fever.
And everywhere listlessness appeared.
Pain in the chest
And finally, the incessant coughing and vomiting blood.
It was then that people began to realize that Astaroth might have poisoned them, and it was then that they recognized the symptoms of consumption. But by then it was too late.
In the days that followed, one minotaur after another died until none were left.
