Murat send one of his messengers to MacDonald who was undercover in Neopolis. The man had to ask around a couple of times, and had noticed that someone in a long coat and with his face covered was following him.
Eventually he found MacDonald. Before he explained the note, he pointed out the man in the shadow. "One of the Mosafran Sayeh...Shadow Walkers...watching over me," replied MacDonald. "OK. short version of the note....you need to leave here, and head for Port de la Montagne. There lies a brig called the Inconstant, which you have to board. Murat will meet you there."
After which MacDonald returned to his men outside Neopolis: "We are heading for Port de la Montagne...follow me!
The Inconstant was easy to find once they arrived in Port de la Montagne. So MacDonald and a selection of his men hired some rowing boats and got on board.
It took whole night for Murat to arrive in Port de la Montagne. He just took the first rowing boat available and rowed to the Inconstant.
At the brig everyone seemed asleep. Only one man was keeping guard.
Later that day, when the sun had set again, both Murat and MacDonald stood on deck. "Cut your hair, huh" "Look who's talking. Remember, when there will be fighting, you are no longer on your horse.
