After the coronation ceremony, Isolde still had an open point with Ariel. She wanted to know the details about the white giants.

Ariel told Isolde that all the gates were guarded after the appearance of the white giants. A few days later, however, they all began to spontaneously fall apart.

Luckily, they still had the head of one of the giants' mechanical men, which had been left behind after the encounter with the Eryndor scouts.

The head seemed still to be able to speak, even though it was separated from its body. And it apparently enjoyed telling the story of the Mermen, as they apparently called themselves.

Originally, the giants were sea creatures. An absurd cross between Elves and some kind of sea monster. The variety among the species was great, just like with other animals that live underwater. What they had in common was that their ears functioned as gills, and they all had sharp teeth and were very muscular.

But there were also many differences. In some cases, their faces still seemed to have the features of the Elves, but in others they truly looked like monsters.

Others had tails or fins instead of feet. The warriors among the men, for this species consisted exclusively of men, all wielded a trident as a weapon.

However great their differences, they considered themselves one species, and were led by three brothers, better known as the Trident.
