A few days later, a foot soldier asked for an audience with Isolde. He said he had important information for her. For a price.
Isolde took the man to a secluded place in the woods where the man revealed himself to be a soldier from the army of Eryndor. And he told Isolde about the agreement with the Gorgons.
Isolde was aware of the value of this information. In her eyes, Eryndor would not hesitate to use this treaty against her for his own royal ambitions. She thanked the anonymous soldier and handed him a pouch with gold coins.
The man thanked her but before he could leave, Isolde held a knife to his throat: "You know that if you let this leak to anyone, it will mean the end of your pathetic life." To which the man nodded.
However, he was still only a few meters away from Isolde, and Isolde was about to rejoin her army when she called him back: "On further thought...I hate traitors." And she thrust her long dagger through his throat.
