Once back, the coronation ceremony was set up. Isolde was sworn in by the druids.
Later, a separate room was temporarily set up as a small throne room, so that the other two queens could take their vows in private.
Queen Jade, being the proud woman she was, took her vows forcefully, emphasizing her prerogatives.
Ariel was less assertive but also took her vows confidently.
A special moment had been scheduled for Thylaris, to spare both ex-lovers any awkward moments. He had insisted that his lieutenants also took their vows.
Then came the official ceremony. A herald announced Isolde's arrival in the great throne room: "Everyone, welcome Queen Isode, first of her name, and first ruler of the united kingdom that shall henceforth be known as Albion."
Isolde made her entrance to loud applause and cheers.
She took her place on the throne made for her among her four bodyguards.
“Everyone, kneel before your new queen, in sign of your eternal and unconditional loyalty.”
Whereupon the whole army sank upon their right knees.
