The information Isolde had received was crucial, but also disturbing. If the traitor was right, the giants were so powerful and numerous that her army risked being wiped out. So she changed her mind and took a path that led to the ocean.
There was an old myth that a pristine island lay far out in the ocean. Most elves had forgotten that myth, so it would be an ideal refuge and a perfect place to found their own dynasty.
In a hidden cave in the cliffs lay an ancient collection of longships, dating back to the time when the elves were true nomads. They were perfectly maintained and plentiful. Isolde needed nothing more, and her decision was now made.
She returned to the forest and summoned the dragons. Since Eryndor and his army were almost entirely male, she had the dragons completely on her side.
She told them about the alien giants and the danger she believed they posed. She then explained her plan and asked for the dragons' help to guide her fleet to the island of the myth.
The dragons unanimously agreed to her plan and Isolde called her admiral to gather the army and explain her plan to them.
That same night, Isolde and her army were on their way to the cave in the cliffs.
The little luggage they had with them was thrown into the longships and soon everyone was on board.
As agreed, the dragons would navigate and guide the ships. Now it was just a matter of hoping the myth wasn't a fable.
