The proposal met with everyone's approval, and a message was sent to Isolde. Two days later, Thylaris, the Shadow Walker, was on his way to the temple.
On his back was Varno Elendili, the sword of Isolde, whose name meant Protector of the Elves. As Thylaris approached the temple, he drew the sword as a precaution.
Once he had revealed himself, several Elves came to meet him. Thylaris explained that Isolde herself could not come, but that she had instructed him to gain entrance to the temple with her sword.
The timid Elves were right. As soon as Thylaris held the royal sword to the door, it opened.
Thylaris left the sword behind and descended into what appeared to be a cellar. He was followed by other Elves, but he sent them back and asked them to wait.
Apparently it was a good idea to come alone, without weapons, because here and there in the temple lay silent witnesses of former visitors who had tried to gain access to the temple's secrets by force.
Thylaris followed the light to a higher floor.
Until he came to a room that defied his imagination.
An ancient tree stood bathed in light, and on its trunk all sorts of luminous signs were visible.
This was something beyond his comprehension. But that this discovery could be important to the Elves was absolutely certain. The Council of Elves would certainly have to hear about this.
