When MacDonald met Tornassuk, he had not expected to see him in armor. Or to get a lecture: "My name is Tornassuk. I have been waiting for you. Before we depart...I will not take you on my back, I will not fight against other bears, unless they attack first, and you will address me with Sir....cause I am from noble descent."
After which Tornassuk sat down. MacDonald replied: "OK, I respect that. And I will call you Sir, if you also call me Sir, cause I am also from noble descent." 'To which the bear replied: "Uh-uh...nope, will not do." And so MacDonald also got seated.
And so they both kept staring at each other. Until the bear said: "If you don't have to call me Sir, do I still have to call you Sir?" MacDonald replied: "No, you don't...it'll only slow down communication."
The bear looked investigative at MacDonald and then rubbed his hair: "I like you. We will travel together, Sir....or we can both drop the sirs, of course. And, you can ride on my back when we are in danger. By the way, you don't happen to have some warm cocoa on you, do you?" MacDonald shook his head. "Too pity."
And so the two traveling companions were on their way, without saying a word. But then Tornassuk stopped: "Get behind me, stay there, don't move, and don't say a word."
"Well, well, well, Tornassuk, have you found another weakling to play with?", the bear with the human on his back asked. "Oh by the way, weakling, I am called the Dog of the Ghosts, and I have been waiting for you."
