It takes tári quite some time to come to a verdict. Eryndor is not only Lord Protector of the woods, he is also highly regarded by the other members of the community.

But even when the law is cruel, it still remains the law.

When the early day shows its first rays of lights, tári summons Eryndor.

She awaits him outside her palace, because she will not honor him by receiving him inside a place that is dear to her.

When Eryndor arrives he kneels before tári and bows his head. Tári notices that he is wearing the jewels of his house and function, and orders him to remove them.

With some reluctance Eryndor takes of his crown, the earrings and the jewel on his forehead.

Eryndor is too well raised not to realize what will follow next. He takes off his weapons and starts laying them before tári.

While doing so he addresses her: "I lay my faith in your hands, your highness."

Patiently he awaits tári's reaction. "You are hereforth banished and will no longer enjoy the gift of immortality. Furthermore, as the beast you bonded with is concerned..." Tári notices that Eryndor 's grip around his sword is tightening."

"What do you think you are doing?" "I am taking back my birth right, which is my sword and the right to ride and bond with a dragon. I am royalty. I should be king. You cannot tell me what to do." Eryndor stands up, shields his sword and grabs the spear on his back.

He then kills tári and leaves the bloody spear with the emblem of his house lying behind. He wants the message to be clear.

Without any remorse Eryndor leaves the place, looks back and feels the joy of power rising in his chest.
