Seeing his village from the viewpoint at the bench, Mac hesitates to go back. Will people believe him? Will Zena believe him? What about Zoroaster and his followers?

While he is thinking he walks in front of the bench and sits down. Is there anything at all he can do? He cannot fight the Gorgons. Their followers would immediately call it a breach of peace.

He has been fighting for peace so long, and it is still brittle. Is what he saw worth of breaking that peace. But is holding the peace worth the atrocities that are going on?

And even if they would support Mac in his fight, Mac's community is no match for the Gorgons.

But he cannot leave the Angels to the mercy of the Gorgons and their cruelty. There must be something he can do.

Think, Mac, think. There must be something. How can he ever sleep again with what he saw. No species should endure what the Angels are at this moment. How can he find allies? How is he going to explain this to his future children? How will Zena look at him, when he does not act? What about his high held values? "Aaaaaaarrrgh!!!"

How is he going to explain this to his future children? How will Zena look at him, when he does not act? What about his high held values? "Aaaaaaarrrgh!!!"

Before Mac realizes what happens, his legs start moving again. He must do something, but staying at that bench in the woods is not the solution.
